About OneFile
Who Uses OneFile?
OneFile can be used by training providers, e-Assessment providers, learning centres,
colleges and universities. Learners, Assessors, Internal Verifiers, Employers, Centre
Managers and Awarding Bodies can all use OneFile depending on their role in the
assessment process. OneFile has been specifically designed for NVQ/SNVQ, Key Skills
and Basic Skills, although it is modular by design and can be customised for any
criteria-based qualification.
e-Portfolio
OneFile replaces the traditional paper-based method of storing assessment evidence
and written feedback in a physical binder. By storing evidence, feedback and reviews
in an online '
e-Portfolio', everyone can
access the same portfolio 24/7 even at the same time. OneFile overcomes the logistical
problems of moving portfolios from the Learner to Assessor to verifier during peripatetic
assessment and the problem of physical storage.
Progress and Management Reporting
As soon as assessments are added to the Portfolio a chart can be viewed to show
the Learner's progress. Assessments are automatically cross-referenced against the
standards to which a Learner is studying. Managers and Verifiers can produce comprehensive
reports on Learner progress individually or by classrooms. OneFile also produces
a full auditable trail, login times per user, placement productivity and assessor
competency tables.
Task-based System
OneFile takes the assessment process as a workflow and breaks it down into tasks
that need to be performed by Learners, Assessors and Verifiers. Assessors can create
Action Plans that automatically create assessment tasks for Learners. Assessments
can be marked automatically by OneFile or by an assessor if manual marking is required.
Tasks are also generated when study units have been completed and where feedback
to the Learner is required.
More than an e-Portfolio
OneFile's greatest strength is in its simplicity and ease-of-use. New Learners can
be added to the system at the touch of a button. Intuitive and user-friendly design
provide a stimulating work environment. An internal messaging system helps communication
between Learners, Assessors, verifiers and Managers. Other features include an IV
(Internal Verifier) Sampling Table, ILR (Individualised Learner Record) data forms
and integrated Support and Community forums.
